Snack before the party
Many people have a habit of fasting before parties, but this is counterproductive. When hungry, the body easily overeats and chooses energy-rich foods.
Dr. Walter Willett, a nutritionist at Harvard School of Public Health (USA), believes that a light meal before a party with protein and fiber (such as Greek yogurt, fruits, nuts) helps stabilize blood sugar and reduce cravings. As a result, you control your portions better when standing in front of a table full of attractive dishes.
Prioritize smart eating order
Not every dish is as dangerous. Experts recommend starting the party with green vegetables, salads, boiled or steamed dishes first, then starchy and fatty dishes. American nutritionist Keri Gans, author of The Small Change Diet, said that eating vegetables and protein first helps create a feeling of fullness early, thereby limiting calorie intake from fried foods, fatty sauces or sweets.
Drink enough water, limit sugary and alcoholic beverages
Soft drinks, beer and alcohol are often a hidden source of calories in parties. According to the American Nutrition Association, sugary drinks do not create a feeling of fullness but contribute significantly to weight gain. Drinking a glass of filtered water before and during parties not only helps reduce overeating but also supports digestion. If you use alcohol, you should drink slowly, interspersed with water to reduce total calories.
Eating parties does not mean letting go. With just a few small changes in habits, you can completely enjoy a fun atmosphere while still maintaining your figure and health for a long time.
