On April 12, the Center for Disease Control of Binh Thuan province announced that there was another death from rabies. This is a male patient (born in 1989, residing in Gia An commune, Tanh Linh district) who had a stray cat scratching his calf, a shallow wound, and little bleeding on February 9.
After that, the patient was not vaccinated against rabies and anti-rabies serum. On April 3, the patient showed symptoms of abdominal pain, fatigue, fear of wind, shortness of breath, and twitching and was taken to a general clinic.

Here, the patient was diagnosed with suspected rabies and transferred to the Ho Chi Minh City Hospital for Tropical Diseases for treatment. The patient's test result was positive for rabies virus. The patient's family asked to take the patient home and he died later.
According to the authorities, any case of being bitten, scratched, licked by a dog, cat, rat... can be infected with rabies.
Initial wounds need to be treated properly and quickly to medical facilities to be vaccinated against rabies. Absolutely do not self-treat with any medicine or folk method.
