Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Anh has just signed and issued a plan to organize the Launching Ceremony for periodic health check-ups and free screening for people in the province on June 5.
According to the plan, the activity aims to shift thinking from treating diseases to proactively preventing diseases, early detection of disease risks, comprehensive and continuous health management and care for people at each stage of life.
Lao Cai province aims to mobilize the participation of the entire political system so that 99/99 communes and wards simultaneously respond immediately after the launching ceremony, and at the same time strive for at least 50% of the population to have periodic health check-ups or free screenings in June 2026.
The Department of Health is assigned to be the focal agency, responsible for advising, coordinating, urging and summarizing the results of implementation throughout the province. This unit will coordinate with relevant agencies to prepare programs, propaganda materials and ensure conditions to serve the launching ceremony at An Tien Industries Joint Stock Company.
In addition, general hospitals No. 1, No. 2, regional health centers and health stations are required to arrange sufficient personnel and equipment to serve health check-ups for people and workers.
The Management Board of Industrial Parks of Lao Cai province is assigned to coordinate with the Department of Health to prepare facilities to serve the launching ceremony. Immediately after the program, health check-up points will be organized for workers at An Tien Industries Joint Stock Company, Nasaki Vietnam Co., Ltd. and Thien An Vietnam Wood Industry Co., Ltd.
Along with that, the Provincial Industrial Parks Authority is responsible for urging businesses to complete periodic health check-ups for workers in June 2026.

At the grassroots level, the People's Committees of communes and wards are required to simultaneously organize periodic health check-ups or free screenings for people on June 5; mobilize the participation of socio-political organizations, villages, hamlets, and residential groups to achieve the set goals.
Localities must also direct health stations to closely coordinate with regional health centers, ensure human resources, facilities, security and order, implement medical examination streams and update results on electronic health records. The implementation results will be reported weekly to the Department of Health.
According to the plan, the launching ceremony will be held simultaneously at 5 locations in the province with the participation and direction of leaders of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee.
The simultaneous implementation of the free health check-up program is expected to contribute to improving the quality of primary health care, early detection of diseases and gradually realizing the goal of universal health coverage in Lao Cai province.
