According to the Lao Cai Provincial Department of Finance, the above revenue is equivalent to 55% of the central budget estimate and 41% of the provincial People's Council budget estimate.
In total budget revenue, balanced budget revenue reached 5,622 billion VND; revenue from land use fees reached 2,239 billion VND; revenue from import and export activities reached 1,160 billion VND; contributions from mineral exploitation reached 567 billion VND; lottery revenue reached 37 billion VND.
Budget revenue results show many positive signs when in 19 monitored revenue items, 11 items exceeded the 5-month scenario, 12 items increased compared to the same period in 2025. The whole province has 80/99 localities reaching and exceeding the budget revenue plan according to the built scenario.
Notably, there are 131 businesses and units in the area contributing 10 billion VND or more to the budget, with total revenue reaching 3,064 billion VND, equal to 43.2% of the year's estimate.
In May alone, some sudden revenues contributed to increasing the province's budget revenue. In which, contributions from mineral exploitation activities reached 505 billion VND.
Revenue from newly operating enterprises also recorded positive results such as Viglacera Real Estate Business Company contributing 17 billion VND, An Tien Industries Joint Stock Company contributing 19.3 billion VND and Yen Bai European Plastics Joint Stock Company contributing 13 billion VND.
According to the assessment of the finance sector, the budget revenue results achieved in the first months of the year are an important basis for Lao Cai to strive to complete the state budget revenue target for 2026, while creating resources for development investment and implementing social security tasks in the area.
