It is estimated that about 50% of cases are under 30 years old. In Vietnam, total fertility rate (TFR) has decreased to a record low of 1.91 births/woman in 2024 and is in the group of countries with the lowest birth rates in Southeast Asia.
In particular, according to the report, it is estimated that there are about 1 million infertile couples each year, accounting for about 7.7%. According to experts, the above problem is not only a modern medical challenge, but also negatively affects the birth rate, hindering sustainable population development.
On January 14, the Long Chau pharmacy system and vaccination center signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Hanoi Andrology and Infertility Hospital (AF HANOI), Merck Healthcare Vietnam to improve reproductive health care.
Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong - Executive Director, Hanoi Andrology and Infertility Hospital (AF HANOI) shared: "The project "Improving Reproductive Health and Improving Infertility in the Community" is a comprehensive healthcare model: The hospital provides specialized medical expertise and standard treatment protocols; Long Chau brings a widespread community reach network, "close to the people, close to the people". Merck accompanies with a scientific platform, medicine and international standard reproductive support solutions.
When these three pillars are connected, people will have access to the right information - at the right time - with the right solutions, be screened early, given correct advice and treated promptly, thereby enhancing the opportunity to be parents right from the first steps.
We believe that, from this cooperation, thousands more couples will have access to the right knowledge, more journeys of parenthood will be ignited and more seeds of life will be nurtured by science, love and social responsibility.

Ms. Ghislaine Dondellinger - General Director of Merck Healthcare Vietnam said: "Infertility affects countless individuals and couples, leading to mental pain and psychological barriers to society. As a world leader in infertility treatment solutions, Merck understands the profound impacts of this issue.
We believe that, through education, empathy and advanced medical solutions, we can create positive and sustainable changes in their lives. In addition, we expect this cooperation to contribute to improving Vietnam's birth rate and addressing the urgent needs of society today.

According to Ms. Nguyen Do Quyen - Deputy General Director of FPT Retail cum CEO of the pharmacy system and Long Chau vaccination center: "We approach this project with a consistent spirit: for the community, for people, and for a healthy Vietnam. We believe that when people have the right knowledge, have the right access and are empathetically accompanied, each family will have more opportunities to make the right choices in healthcare.
Reproductive health is a sensitive, private and sensitive topic, so sometimes it becomes a quiet moment in many families. Many people bring worries but lack accurate information, lack a sufficiently reliable space to share.
Therefore, today's project is launched with a scientific and empathetic approach, so that each citizen feels respected, listened to, and supported by understandable and reliable information.

On the journey "For a Healthy Vietnam", Long Chau clearly defines community responsibility: bringing health education closer to the people, civilized and in line with Vietnamese culture.
With more than 20,000 medical personnel and a network of more than 2,400 pharmacies nationwide, we are ready to be a extended arm with partners to contribute to helping people proactively take care of their health early and properly, contributing to a larger goal: improving fertility and building a sustainable developing Vietnam.

It's a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit.
