The Southern provinces are in the rainy season, the prolonged humid weather creates conditions for skin diseases such as skin fungus and dermatitis to increase. Many hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City have recorded an increasing number of cases of these diseases.
According to the Southern and Central Highlands Hydrometeorological Station, from now until June 23, the area will continue to have thunderstorms, with some places having heavy to very heavy rain. People are advised to proactively protect their health and maintain skin hygiene to prevent the risk of disease.

Recorded at Tam Anh General Hospital and Tam Anh General Clinic of District 7, from the beginning of May until now, the unit has received an average of 1,700 - 2,000 cases of skin disease examination and treatment per week, peaking in early June when Ho Chi Minh City experienced prolonged heavy rain. Ms. N.T.K (40 years old, Ho Chi Minh City) said that after a week of frequently going home in the rain after work, she felt her legs burning, red, peeling, and tended to spread to her thighs and neighboring areas.
The outer edge of the lesion was clearly marked, with a bulge, and many small blisters, with signs of leakage and red inflammation in some places. This makes her uncomfortable when wearing tight clothes or being very active, unable to concentrate at work, affecting the quality of sleep and daily activities. Ms. K was diagnosed with skin fungus.

According to Dr. Ly Thien Phuc - Dermatology - Skin Aesthetics, Tam Anh General Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City, the number of people coming for skin examination has increased sharply mainly due to humid weather, which is an ideal condition for fermented and fibrous fungi to thrive on the skin surface.
vulnerable skin areas are folds such as the groin, armpits, neck, and legs that are prone to sweating and are less breathable. In particular, people with sensitive skin or chronic skin diseases such as eczema (atheratitis), psoriasis... the condition is often more severe at this time.
To prevent skin diseases in humid weather, people should keep their bodies clean and dry after being exposed to rainwater or dirty floodwater. When wet, quickly wash with clean water and disinfectant soap, change clothes, avoid leaving your skin feeling moist for a long time, especially in areas prone to fungus such as between your toes, groin, and armpits.
In addition, do not wear tight shoes for too long if your feet are still damp, limit wearing tight-fitting clothes and share personal items such as towels, socks, and shoes. When seeing signs of itching, rash, and scaly skin, you need to go to a reputable medical facility for proper treatment, avoid self-medication that can easily make the condition worse.
