Some foods are not only good for health but also contribute to supporting the control of blood uric acid levels.

Prolonged high uric acid levels in the blood can increase the risk of gout and many other health problems.

Some foods are said to be beneficial in supporting uric acid control. Apples contain malic acid, which can contribute to supporting uric acid neutralization. Meanwhile, cherries and berries such as strawberries and blueberries are rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, helping to reduce the risk of urate crystal deposition in joints.

Drinking enough water also plays an important role because it helps the kidneys increase the excretion of excess uric acid through urine. Adults should maintain about 2-2.5 liters of water per day, depending on their health condition and exercise level.

Vegetables such as carrots, beets, cucumbers, broccoli and fresh vegetable juice are also suitable choices in the diet. In addition, foods rich in vitamin C such as oranges, lemons, kiwis, guavas, tomatoes and green leafy vegetables can help reduce uric acid levels in the blood.

Nutrition experts also recommend prioritizing low-fat dairy products, fiber-rich foods such as oats, pears, apples, barley, broccoli and beans. Fiber contributes to supporting uric acid excretion, while helping to control weight - a factor related to the risk of increased uric acid.

In addition, foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids such as salmon, mackerel, sardines, flaxseed and walnuts have anti-inflammatory properties, contributing to joint health. Olive oil is also a healthy fat choice instead of animal fat in cooking. Bananas, green tea and nuts can also be added to a diverse and balanced diet.

In addition to choosing suitable foods, people with high uric acid should limit sugary drinks, especially products high in fructose, because this type of sugar can increase uric acid production. Alcohol and beer also need to be limited because they increase the risk of dehydration and reduce the kidney's ability to excrete uric acid.

In addition to diet, maintaining a reasonable weight, regular exercise, controlling blood sugar and following treatment instructions from a doctor are important factors to help control uric acid effectively, thereby reducing the risk of acute gout attacks and long-term complications.
