On April 26, Da Nang Hospital said that a man over 50 years old was rescued in time after falling into cardiac arrest while playing pickleball at a sports field in Da Nang city.
This man was rescued thanks to the emergency intervention of Specialist Doctor Le Quang Huy - Department of Neurosurgery, Da Nang Hospital.

Previously, at 5:40 pm on April 25, while preparing to go to the hospital to work, BSCKI Le Quang Huy heard cries for help from the sports field opposite his house with information that someone was suddenly unconscious and needed emergency medical assistance.
Immediately upon approaching the scene, Dr. Huy recorded the patient in a state of loss of consciousness, cyanosis, rapid and weak breathing, foaming at the mouth, and difficult pulse to detect.
Recognizing this as a critical circulatory arrest case, the doctor immediately cleared the airway, removed phlegm and removed saliva, and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) by external chest compression.
In the condition of being alone at the scene, Dr. Huy continuously performed emergency cardiac tamponade for more than 5 minutes. After an urgent heart and lung resuscitation process, the patient gradually regained heart rhythm, pulse became clearer and began to recover consciousness.
Immediately after that, emergency force 115 of Da Nang city received the patient and transferred him to a medical facility for further treatment. Currently, the patient's health has stabilized and he has been discharged home for monitoring.
Dr. Le Duc Nhan - Director of Da Nang Hospital said that this is a case that clearly shows the vital role of initial first aid in sudden cardiac arrest situations.
In circulatory arrest emergency, every minute is decisive. If the patient is detected early and heart and lung resuscitation is performed according to proper techniques right at the scene, the chance of survival will increase significantly.
This is also the reason why Da Nang Hospital regularly organizes basic respiratory circulatory arrest emergency training programs for medical staff, and at the same time aims to spread essential first aid skills in the community" - Dr. Le Duc Nhan shared.
