A year ago, Mr. N.T.N (72 years old, Ho Chi Minh City) had a black spot in the pulp of his right eye, thinking it was a hill hill Predate. This note gradually spread, becoming rough, itchy, and bleeding. Mr. N thought that the scabies were due to poor hygiene and poisoning, but it did not improve. The rough shoots are about 2 cm wide.
MSc. Dr. Doan Minh Trong - Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology - Neck Surgery, Tam Anh General Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City examined and diagnosed this as skin cancer. The patient was planned to have the eye bag skin cancer removed, then use a skin tarpaulin to cover the defect.
After surgery, Mr. N closed and opened his eyes normally. The scar became whole after 1 month. The pathological results showed that patient N had bottom- cell carcinoma; the tissue around the tumor had no malicious cells so no further radiotherapy was needed.
Doctor Trong said that skin cancer is a condition in which skin cells develop uncontrollably. There are 3 common types of skin cancer: bottom- cell mole, scaly cell mole, and greenhouse effect (malignant folds).
Most skin cancers progress slowly and can be cured if detected and treated properly. At a late stage, when cancer cells have metastasized to the lungs, heart, brain... the success rate decreases to 20 - 40%.
Most skin cancers are caused by prolonged exposure to UV rays, which often appear in areas of skin exposed to sunlight such as the head, face and neck. In particular, greenback cancer develops from flies.
Skin cancer has a number of risk factors such as radioactive infections, chronic dermatitis, skin cancer exposure, a family with many people with skin cancer, albino disease...
Dr. Trong said that the elderly are susceptible to skin cancer due to aging along with prolonged exposure to sunlight. Cells in the body continuously die and regenerate. The older you get, the more likely your cell regeneration process is to "error", leading to the formation of malicious cells.
To treat skin cancer, doctors often perform surgery to remove cancerous tissue and neighboring tissue about 1-2 cm, then perform a cosmetic transformation. Depending on the pathological results, patients can have radiotherapy to prevent the cancer from recurring.
Doctor Trong recommends that people who see a skin with a tumor, a long-term ulcer that heals after 1 - 2 weeks, a light brown, pink or red dark spot, bleeding from a minor collision... should see a doctor to find the cause. Scalp or shell, rough surface, roughness... also warn of skin cancer.
People with black spots that appear abnormally, gradually increase in size; Flies with unclear edges, strange colors, itching, redness, increasing size, asymmetry... should also see a specialist for appropriate treatment.
