Statistics from Can Tho Children's Hospital show that from the beginning of June 2025 to now, the hospital's Emergency Department has received and treated 17 cases of children with dengue shock shock.
As in the case of patient P.T.C.T (11 years old) admitted to the hospital with a high fever on the 3rd day, poor appetite, abdominal pain, mild vomiting, cold hands and feet and low blood pressure. Determining this to be a Dengue shock case, doctors quickly deployed an active anti-shock treatment regimen. After nearly a week of treatment, the child's condition gradually stabilized and he was discharged from the hospital.

As for patient H.H.T.D (7 years old), he was admitted to the hospital in shock after 4 days of high fever, vomiting more than 10 times/day. The family monitored at home and took him to the hospital when his condition had progressed.
At the hospital, patient T.D was actively treated but still had multiple shocks and had to be on a ventilator. The child's health has improved, he was taken off the ventilator and transferred to the clinic for further treatment.
Doctors recommend that when children show signs of continuous high fever, vomiting a lot, cold hands and feet, struggling, fatigue... the family should take the child to a medical facility in time for proper diagnosis and treatment to avoid possible dangerous complications.
The Dengue dengue vaccine has been licensed for circulation in Vietnam by the Ministry of Health. At Can Tho Children's Hospital, dengue fever vaccine (Qdenga) is being deployed for vaccination for children.
