Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health informed that a report from Vung Tau General Hospital said that on March 3rd and 4th, the hospital received a series of cases after using food at a sidewalk bread shop at address 13 Do Chieu street, Vung Tau ward.
In most cases, patients recorded digestive symptoms such as vomiting, abdominal pain, fever... of which 69 cases were hospitalized for treatment and 10 other cases had mild symptoms, so they were prescribed outpatient treatment and continued to be monitored at home.
After receiving reports from medical facilities, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health directed Vung Tau General Hospital and medical facilities to review the reception and treatment of patients after using food at the above address.
At the same time, ensuring the reception, classification and treatment according to the correct food poisoning treatment protocol, in case of serious cases, it is necessary to conduct a consultation or transfer to a higher-level hospital.
In addition, implement a quick reporting regimen to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety and the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, including the absorption situation, the number of severe cases, microbiological results and complications (if any), to promptly coordinate and unify treatment regimens.
Previously, on March 4, the Food Safety Department (Ministry of Health) sent a document to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety regarding the investigation and handling of a suspected food poisoning case due to bread that occurred in Vung Tau ward.
