Ho Chi Minh City - The number of cases admitted to Vung Tau General Hospital for treatment of food poisoning suspected to be caused by bread has increased on the evening of March 3.

On March 4, Vung Tau General Hospital (Phuoc Thang ward, Ho Chi Minh City) said that as of 7 am on March 4, the unit had received 54 cases for treatment of food poisoning symptoms.

Among them, 5 cases were examined and given prescriptions to go home for self-monitoring; 49 cases were hospitalized for treatment at the Departments of Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases...

Previously, on March 3, cases of food poisoning appeared at Vung Tau General Hospital for treatment, with a common point being that they used bread at the facility on Do Chieu street, Vung Tau ward.

In the afternoon of March 3, only 6 cases were hospitalized for treatment, but in the evening of the same day, the number of hospitalizations increased sharply. Some cases, although they had previously been examined and used external medicine, were also hospitalized for treatment in the evening of March 3.

In the afternoon of March 3, Vung Tau Ward People's Committee grasped information about the food poisoning incident and established an inter-sectoral inspection team at the bread establishment suspected of causing food poisoning.

Initially working, the facility presented all relevant documents, food samples stored according to regulations; rapid testing of borax, formol... also had negative results. Functional forces have taken samples to send for testing according to regulations.
