Aptamil milk recalled, many breastfeeding mothers worried
The Food Safety Department (Ministry of Health) has just sent a document to the Departments of Health of provinces, cities and related units, warning that Aptamil Infant Formula 800g formula milk products are at risk of not ensuring safety for young children's health.
According to information from Danone Company (France), on January 23, 2026, this enterprise voluntarily recalled a batch of Aptamil First Infant Formula 800g milk circulating in the UK market after detecting products contaminated with cereulide toxins created by Bacillus cereus bacteria. The recalled batch of products has a validity period before October 31, 2026. On January 24, 2026, the UK Food Standards Authority (FSA) issued an official warning about the incident.
However, actual records show that Aptamil branded products are still being popularly advertised on many e-commerce platforms and at some mother and baby store systems.

In the Association of Mothers Using Aptamil Milk, many breastfeeding mothers are also worried about Aptamil milk. Mother Thu Anh in Hai Phong posted to resell milk: "I need to leave behind 1 can of Aptamil milk priced at 750,000 VND, still new with a full auxiliary team".
Some mothers are worried and send pictures of Aptamil milk that their children are using to see if this type will be recalled?
Besides, there is a breastfeeding mother who reassured her: "Currently, many mothers who are using Aptamil milk are worried about the issue of milk recall. The company has provided the following information:
Aptamil Australia is completely unrelated to this milk recall. According to an official announcement from Danone, Aptamil products manufactured in New Zealand do not use ARA raw materials from suppliers that are subject to recall. Therefore, all Aptamil lines (including Aptamil Australia) manufactured in New Zealand are not on the recall list and are still safe to use. Danone affirms that products are strictly controlled according to international food safety standards before being put on the market. Mothers can rest assured.
Do not use Warned Aptamil Infant Formula 800g milk shipments
The Food Safety Department (Ministry of Health) requests localities to review the announcement and circulation of Aptamil milk produced by Danone, announce the cessation of use and organize the recall of related products. This agency also advises consumers not to use batches of Aptamil Infant Formula 800g milk that are subject to warnings.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Thinh, former lecturer at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, said that cereulide is a ring peptide toxin produced by some Bacillus cereus bacterial strains. This is a type of heat-resistant toxin, almost non-destructive when cooked and can cause acute food poisoning with symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, usually starting after 30 minutes to 6 hours. In infants and young children, the risk is higher because the digestive system is still weak. When using toxic milk, children are prone to digestive disorders, acute diarrhea, vomiting and reduced ability to absorb nutrients. It is noteworthy that although bacteria may have been destroyed, toxins can still exist in the product; the level of danger depends on the amount of toxins absorbed. Regular or large use can cause toxins to accumulate, causing prolonged poisoning.
Experts recommend that parents comply with the instructions of functional agencies, do not buy or use products that are in the warning area. If children experience suspected symptoms of poisoning such as vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, they should be quickly taken to a medical facility and do not arbitrarily use medication to stop vomiting and diarrhea.
Dr. Chu Quoc Thinh - Acting Director of the Food Safety Department (Ministry of Health) - said that the Department has requested to review the announcement, import and circulation of Aptamil Infant Formula milk; requested to stop use, organize the recall of related batches; reported the quantity imported, circulated, and in stock and strengthened warnings to consumers not to use affected products.
Experts also recommend choosing milk that has been legally registered and announced in Vietnam and has a clear origin; monitor children's reactions after changing milk, especially in the first few days. If children show abnormal signs (vomiting, frequent diarrhea, abdominal pain), they should be taken to a medical facility early.
It's a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit.
