The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health has sent an urgent document to the HCDC; public and non-public medical facilities; district health departments, and Thu Duc City on strengthening the prevention and control of severe viral pneumonia (SVP).
Faced with the unpredictable development of respiratory diseases, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health has requested medical facilities in the city to advise people coming for examination, treatment, or work at medical facilities to strictly wear masks within the premises of medical facilities.
Medical facilities continue to prevent and control avian influenza in humans and strengthen the prevention of avian influenza from spreading to humans.
The Department of Health assigned HCDC to preside over and coordinate with medical facilities to monitor suspected cases of severe viral pneumonia (SVP) in the city in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Health.
Medical examination and treatment facilities periodically report to the Department of Health the results of monitoring and propose reminders and disciplinary actions for units that do not comply or do not strictly comply.
The Department of Health also requested the health department to deploy this content to general clinics and specialized clinics in the management area. In particular, it is necessary to note and request that non-public medical examination and treatment facilities in the area report cases of respiratory diseases or suspected viral pneumonia to health stations, district health centers, and Thu Duc City.
