LPB Ninh Binh Club has said goodbye to the 2024 World Club Volleyball Championship after losing all 3 matches and not winning any set. This is also the last tournament in 2024 for coach Thai Thanh Tung's team.
Looking back, Bich Tuyen and her teammates had a busy year when they continuously competed in domestic and international tournaments. In the domestic arena, besides the national championship (3rd place), the Co Do team also participated in the Hung Vuong Cup (runner-up), VTV9 - Binh Dien Cup (runner-up), and the Open Army Cup...
With a squad of many players such as Bich Tuyen, Nguyen Thi Trinh or Le Thanh Thuy, LPB Ninh Binh is highly appreciated in the tournaments that this club participates in. However, in a year where the quality of players in each team has clearly improved, received attention and investment, LPB Ninh Binh has encountered difficulties against opponents such as Duc Giang Chemicals or VTV Binh Dien Long An.
The regret for coach Thai Thanh Tung and his team in 2024 is probably that they will not win a championship trophy.
However, LPB Ninh Binh had a memorable year with its mark on the international arena. With the 2023 national championship, they represented Vietnam at the 2024 Asian Club Volleyball Championship. Here, with an even squad, especially the excellence of opposite Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, the Ninh Binh girls excellently finished as runner-up and got a ticket to the 2024 World Club Volleyball Championship.
For the first time, Vietnamese women's volleyball has recorded a team at the club level winning the right to directly participate in the world's highest level tournament for teams. This is a commendable effort by coach Thai Thanh Tung's team.
In the world arena, LPB Ninh Binh is of a much lower level than its opponents in the group stage such as Imoco Conegliano (Italy), Praia Clube (Brazil) and NEC Red Rockets (Japan). Therefore, losing all 3 matches and not winning any set is not beyond the experts' predictions.
In return, the Vietnamese representative has brought positive signals through the recent matches. With a relaxed mentality, not focusing on achievements, the students of coach Thai Thanh Tung played very confidently against the top teams in the continent and the world. At some points, the Vietnamese representative even took the lead, creating many difficulties for the opponent.
Bich Tuyen is still the bright spot in the squad as she is the number 1 scorer and "racing for the top" of the best attacking players after the group stage.
LPB Ninh Binh team members experienced the feeling of competing at the largest playground for volleyball clubs in the world. They directly met, interacted and confronted the world's leading volleyball teams, competing with famous stars.
This will certainly help many athletes of LPB Ninh Binh transform, gradually mature in competition mentality and professional level, and gain more confidence in the future.
Closing the 2024 World Club Volleyball Championship, LPB Ninh Binh has returned home and completed its professional tasks this year. This is the time for Bich Tuyen and her teammates to rest, learn from experience and prepare for other tournaments in 2025.
