Ho Chi Minh City fines many unlicensed medical examination and treatment facilities

On March 9, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said that it had sanctioned many establishments operating in the health sector for detecting a series of violations during inspections.

According to the Inspectorate of the Department of Health, in a recent inspection, functional agencies fined Harvard Medical Care Co., Ltd. with a fine of 95 million VND, and at the same time suspended operations for 21 months.

Functional agencies determined that the facility provided medical examination and treatment services without being granted an operating license as prescribed.

Regarding violations at Harvard Medical Care Co., Ltd., Ms. Le Thi Dieu, a skin care spa employee of the facility, was also fined 35 million VND for performing medical examination and treatment without being granted a practicing certificate.

In this penalty list, there is also Saigon Traditional Medicine Clinic Co., Ltd., which was fined 112 million VND for many violations such as: not listing the price of medical examination and treatment services; providing services beyond the professional scope recorded in the operating license (except for emergency cases); advertising medical examination and treatment services without content on the scope of professional activities.

With the above violations, the Inspectorate of the Department of Health decided to revoke the right to use the medical examination and treatment operating license of the facility for a period of 2 months; and at the same time revoke the right to use the practicing certificate of the person in charge of professional matters for 1 month. The facility was also forced to remove and delete advertising content that is not in accordance with regulations.

In addition, another branch of Dr Bean Trading and Service Joint Stock Company was also identified as having the act of providing medical examination and treatment services without an operating license. The Inspectorate of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health decided to fine 90 million VND and suspend the facility's operation for 18 months as prescribed.
