On March 9, candidates for delegates to the Gia Lai Provincial People's Council of the XIII term, term 2026-2031 at constituency No. 1 met with voters in Nhon Chau commune online to mobilize for elections due to rough seas.
Nhon Chau is the only island commune of Gia Lai province, about 20km from the mainland.

The candidates include: Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee; Major General Le Quang Nhan - Director of Gia Lai Provincial Police; Ms. To Thi Thu Huong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Quy Nhon Ward; Mr. Dang Manh Cuong - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Quy Nhon Nam Ward; Mr. Huynh Ngoc Hoang - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Quy Nhon Dong Ward; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Bich - specialist of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quy Nhon Nam Ward; Mr. Vo Tong Hon - teacher of Nhon Binh Primary School No. 1; Mr. Duong Dinh Phi - union member, militia soldier of Nhon Chau commune.
At the conference, after summarizing their biographies and working process, each candidate presented their draft action program. Through the meeting, voters in Nhon Chau commune expressed their agreement and highly appreciated the action program of the candidates.
Voters proposed many contents related to marine economic development; regimes and policies for people working in association and union organizations; investment in upgrading transport infrastructure; ensuring clean water sources for daily life; strengthening waste collection and treatment; supporting fishermen to develop production; improving the quality of health and education services in the area...
Speaking before voters, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee - on behalf of the candidates thanked the enthusiastic and responsible contributions of voters in Nhon Chau island commune.
According to Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, in the coming time, the province will deploy infrastructure investment in a synchronous direction, associated with economic development; and is currently selecting suitable investors to implement projects in the island commune.
For seriously damaged and degraded roads, the province will prioritize considering timely repairs to meet people's travel needs.
Regarding waste treatment, Nhon Chau island commune has invested in a waste incinerator. The Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee requested local authorities to continue to effectively organize the collection and treatment of domestic waste in the area. He hoped that people would actively coordinate to thoroughly implement waste collection and treatment.
Mr. Pham Anh Tuan said that the province also has a policy to invest in a large-scale seaport infrastructure system in Nhon Chau island commune, ensuring anchoring conditions for all types of ships and boats, especially large tourist boats.
Regarding social security policies, the province is proposing to the Central Government to complete regimes and policies for officials and workers working in island communes; review regimes for people working in association and union organizations in villages, hamlets, and residential groups to soon have appropriate adjustments.
Mr. Pham Anh Tuan hopes that the people of the island commune will continue to accompany and support the province's development policies, creating favorable conditions for investors to come to explore investment opportunities, contributing to promoting socio-economic development in the island commune.
On behalf of the candidates, the Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee affirmed that if they are trusted by voters to be elected as representatives of the Provincial People's Council, they will strive to perform well the role and responsibility of elected representatives, actively reflect the thoughts and legitimate aspirations of voters to competent authorities.
