According to the provisions of Decree 165/2026/ND-CP, from July 1, 2026, the State will apply many support policies for learners in the field of preventive medicine and related industries under the health sector. This regulation aims to strengthen human resources for the preventive health system, especially in areas with many difficulties.
Specifically, according to Clause 1, Article 86 of the Decree, the subjects eligible for support include university and postgraduate students studying majors such as preventive medicine, epidemiology, field epidemiology, public health and nutrition.
For students and trainees who are studying undergraduate, doctoral, master's or doctoral degree programs at public educational institutions in the health sector, if their academic and training results are from good or higher, and they are not disciplined from a reprimand or higher during the scholarship consideration period, they will be granted scholarships to encourage their studies by the State.
Meanwhile, the issuance of scholarships to encourage learning for students and trainees at private educational institutions in the health sector will be implemented according to current regulations.
In addition, postgraduate students studying for a master's or doctoral program in preventive medicine, epidemiology and field epidemiology at educational institutions in the health sector will be fully supported by the State for tuition fees and living expenses during their studies.
In particular, for postgraduate students working at commune-level health stations or preventive health facilities in border areas, islands, ethnic minority and mountainous areas, areas with difficult or extremely difficult socio-economic conditions, when studying preventive medicine, epidemiology, field epidemiology, public health and nutrition, they will be granted policy scholarships by the State.
In addition to support policies from the State budget, the Decree also encourages organizations and individuals to participate in awarding scholarships or allowances to further support students and trainees in the learning process.
