E Hospital before the merger proposal

When the merger proposal is being considered, E Hospital is one of the Central General Hospitals, Class I, of the Ministry of Health.

The Ministry of Health has just proposed a plan to arrange Hospital E to become a facility under Bach Mai Hospital. This is aimed at building a chain of leading hospitals in the industry, streamlining public service units according to the direction of the Central Steering Committee on summarizing Resolution 18.

E Hospital was established on October 17, 1967 under Decision No. 175/TTg-VG of the Prime Minister, with a special mission: Treating officers and soldiers from the Southern to the Northern battlefields. In the context of fierce war, the hospital was established in Can Kiem commune (old Thach That, Ha Tay) and then expanded to Co Nhue (Tu Liem, Hanoi).

Despite the lack of facilities, the team of staff and doctors still try their best to treat war invalids and wounded soldiers in the spirit of "For the South - all for the large frontline". E Hospital became the only medical post in the North to serve the Southern battlefield, making a silent but great contribution to the resistance war to save the country.

After the national reunification day, the hospital switched to treating staff of central agencies in Hanoi. During the difficult period after the war, even though there was a time when they had to be transferred from Grade I to Grade II, the medical team remained steadfast, overcoming challenges to continue taking care of people's health.

Entering the period of innovation, along with changes in management mechanisms, E Hospital has proactively adapted, gradually modernized and expanded the scale of operations. Thanks to the attention of the Party, State and Ministry of Health, the hospital has been invested in synchronous facilities, equipment and human resource training, opening a period of strong development.

Currently, E Hospital has a scale of more than 1,000 beds, including the Cardiovascular Center and 62 departments, functional rooms, located on a campus of 41,000 m2 green - clean - beautiful. Many specialized and modern techniques have been successfully implemented such as open heart surgery, skin-to-ced cardiovascular intervention, cranial - spinal surgery, digestive endoscopy, laser stone canopy, artificial blood filtration, etc.

The hospital is also a practice facility of many leading universities and medical schools such as Hanoi Medical University, Hanoi National University, and Vietnam Academy of Traditional Medicine.

Not only focusing on expertise, E Hospital also comprehensively innovates in management and services. People can order an online examination, online health consultation, and take samples for testing in the community. The hospital also conducts periodic health check-ups, issues health certificates to workers, studies at home and abroad, and receives end-of-line health insurance patients from all over the country.

In particular, the Cardiovascular Center of E Hospital is considered one of the leading addresses in Vietnam for specialized cardiovascular surgery and treatment, with many complex congenital heart surgeries successfully performed using assisted endoscopy techniques.

Thanks to its continuous efforts, Hospital E has been awarded many noble awards by the Party and the State:

First, Second, and Third Class Independence Medals

First Class Labor Medal

Second Class Resistance Medal

These awards are a testament to the persistent journey and tireless dedication of generations of doctors and nurses - those who always maintain the passion of "taking the patient as the center".
