On August 16, Ba Ria General Hospital (Tam Long ward, Ho Chi Minh City) said it had received and treated 9 people injured in a traffic accident that occurred in Ba Ria ward (Ho Chi Minh City).
Previously, at about 5:15 am on the same day, Ba Ria General Hospital received 9 victims in the traffic accident into the emergency department, including 3 children. After receiving them, the hospital quickly classified the victims according to the level of emergency.
Among them, 2 children were identified to need close monitoring from the beginning, one child showed signs of respiratory failure with SpO2 about 93%, and one child showed signs of lethargy in the context of multiple injuries.
Due to the large number of patients, the hospital quickly deployed a mass emergency plan and activated an internal red alert, mobilizing more than 10 doctors and a team of nurses and technicians from many specialties to coordinate assessment and treatment.
After the emergency process and initial assessment, the victims' condition temporarily stabilized. 5 patients had to be hospitalized for continued treatment, with recorded injuries including multiple injuries, head injuries, closed chest injuries, rib fractures, collarbone fractures, lung contusion and liver injury monitoring. Including 2 pediatric patients being closely monitored by hospital doctors.
The remaining cases examined and evaluated without hospitalization indications have been instructed on treatment and outpatient monitoring.
Previously, at about 4:55 am on the same day, a traffic accident occurred between a 7-seater car and a 16-seater car at the Nguyen Tat Thanh - Tran Hung Dao intersection, Ba Ria ward, Ho Chi Minh City. The accident caused the 7-seater car to overturn in the middle of the intersection after the collision, both cars were heavily damaged and many people were injured and taken to the emergency room.
