In Vinh Mo village, Thuong Phuc commune (Hanoi), the family situation of Mrs. Dang Thi Chuyen (born in 1962) makes many people in the village feel sorry. Over 60 years old, her health is increasingly deteriorating due to bone and joint disease and poor eyesight, but Mrs. Chuyen still has to struggle and struggle every day to cover her living expenses...

Born into a poor family, Ms. Chuyen's youth was associated with difficult years. In 1981, when she just turned 19, she enlisted, joined the army and completed her service after nearly two years of service. Returning to her hometown, she hoped for a peaceful life like many other women.
In 1988, she got married. However, that marriage was not complete. After more than two years of living together and having two children, her husband went to work far away and gradually rarely returned home to visit. Since then, all family burdens have fallen on the shoulders of the woman who raised her children alone.
To have money to cover living expenses, Mrs. Chuyen did all kinds of jobs, sometimes selling goods on the street, sometimes going to the fields to farm or doing whatever anyone hires her to do. The job was precarious, the income was not much, but she still tried to persevere to raise her children to adulthood.
Many years of hard work have made her health increasingly weakened. Muscle and joint pain torment makes walking difficult, and her eyes gradually blur with age. But if she quits her job, she doesn't know where to get money for daily living.
Many days I have a lot of pain, walking is difficult, but I still have to try to go to work. If I don't work, I don't have money for living expenses. I just hope I have enough health to take care of myself, to avoid bothering my children and grandchildren," Ms. Chuyen choked up.
Ms. Chuyen's two children also had a difficult life. The eldest son is Mr. Ta Dinh Chu (born in 1990). Growing up in a situation of lack of affection from his father, he soon left his hometown to work far away. In 2011, he married Ms. Nguyen Thi Loc Huong (born in 1987). The life of the couple was also not well-off when Ms. Huong worked as a mortar worker, a heavy job and irregular income.
Their two young children, Ta Duc Tuong Nhat (born in 2012) and Ta Duc Viet Anh (born in 2015), are still of school age.

In recent years, Mr. Chu has continued to work far away, almost never returning home. Ms. Chuyen has repeatedly only hoped that her son will return near home to take care of his mother in her old age. "I just hope my son will return home, have his wife and children by his side to take care of him, occasionally visit his mother, and the family can be reunited," Ms. Chuyen sadly shared.
Her second daughter is Ms. Ta Thi Bai (born in 1991). After getting married, life was hard, so she used to live with her mother for a while and then separated to live alone in an old house nearby. Currently, she works as a construction worker, a hard job, and her income is also unstable.
On rainy and windy days, when bone and joint pain recurred, Mrs. Chuyen could hardly walk much. But thinking about life ahead, she still tried to get up, continue her street vendor job to earn extra income.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Tuyen, Head of Vinh Mo village, Thuong Phuc commune, Ms. Chuyen's situation has been difficult for many years in the locality. She is old, in poor health, and her job is precarious, while her family still has many worries.
We really hope philanthropists will pay attention and help Ms. Chuyen to have more conditions to stabilize her life as she gets older," Mr. Tuyen shared.
