More than 4 months after the labor accident, Mr. Bui Quang Hanh (Tien Lang commune, Hai Phong) still has to fight against persistent pain every day, carrying a physical and mental obsession. The accident not only took away the health and ability to work of the pillar but also pushed his small family into hardship.
In October 2025, Mr. Hanh was happy to be hired as a worker at Thuan Ich Footwear Material Co., Ltd. (Tien Lang commune), with an average income of more than 10 million VND per month. A stable job helps him believe that his family will have a more fulfilling life, and his two children will be better cared for.
However, happiness was short-lived. On the afternoon of March 18, while operating the machine at rig No. 1 of the production workshop, Mr. Hanh was unfortunately pinned by the machine in his hand, causing his right arm to be seriously crushed. He was urgently resuscitated in Hai Phong and then transferred to a hospital in Hanoi for treatment. Doctors diagnosed a crushed right forearm wound, severed radial artery. He had to undergo surgery to cut and remove the peeled skin, remove the damaged vessel segment and reconnect the blood vessel to keep the arm.
It has been more than 4 months since that fateful day, his right arm still aches every day, almost unable to work. Prolonged physical pain makes his spirit collapse. The man who used to be the support of the whole family is now helplessly watching all the burdens fall on his wife's shoulders with a small refreshment stall as the only source of income.
Although he has received hospital fee support from the company and the Trade Union organization, his treatment journey is still very long. Costs of medicine, travel, and rehabilitation are constantly arising, while the new school year is approaching, the tuition fee for his two children has become a constant concern for the family.
Currently, I am still undergoing rehabilitation treatment. This August, I will have to undergo another surgery and may have to intervene many more times later to give my arm a chance to recover. In addition to the support of the company and the Trade Union, the treatment costs are too high, causing my family's economy to become increasingly exhausted" - Mr. Hanh shared.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong - Chairwoman of Tien Lang Commune Trade Union said that after the accident, the Commune Trade Union proposed to the City Labor Federation to support Mr. Bui Quang Hanh. At the same time, she hoped that philanthropists would join hands to help the worker's family overcome difficulties. Every sharing, no matter how small, at this time is of great significance, helping Mr. Hanh have more conditions to continue treatment, overcome the difficult period and add hope for his family to soon stabilize their lives.
