After controlling Svetloye village in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), Russian forces have in fact pushed back Ukrainian troops from the neighboring village of Vodyanskoye, military expert Andrey Marochko told TASS.
According to the expert, after liberating Svetloye, Russian forces seized control of more than ten square kilometers of territory that had been occupied by the Ukrainian army.
So far, we have pushed the Ukrainian army out of the nearby Vodyanskoye settlement, located northwest of Svetloye. In fact, Vodyanskoye is now in the gray zone and will be the next control target," he said.
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the control of Svetloye belonging to the DPR on July 29.
