On November 28, the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund (XHTT) donated 50 million VND to support workers in Hoa Hiep Industrial Park, Dong Hoa Ward.
From this funding source, 50 union members and employees of Truong Thanh Wood Joint Stock Company each received a gift worth 1 million VND.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hoa - Chairman of Dong Hoa Ward Trade Union - said that the Ward Trade Union manages 72 grassroots trade unions with about 6,600 union members.
During the recent flood, thousands of union members suffered heavy losses. Truong Thanh Wood Joint Stock Company alone has 250 workers who have lost their property, and are in extremely difficult circumstances.
After the flood, many businesses have been operating at a low level, with the capacity only reaching about 50% compared to before, Mr. Hoa shared.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ut - a worker at Truong Thanh Wood Joint Stock Company - choked up, both husband and wife were workers, and had young children. Floodwaters rose rapidly and submerged the family's level 4 house.
"The small volley farm that we saved up to build to earn more income was also wiped out. Now my wife and I have to rebuild from scratch, my family is really having a hard time" - Ms. Ut sadly.
In the same situation, Mr. Nguyen Van Toan - the same company as Ms. Ut - said that the farm raised 30 chickens, an income to take care of the two children's education that had been swept away by floodwaters.
