On July 18, representatives of the Golden Heart Fund of Lao Dong Newspaper and the Trade Union of Kon Tum Rubber One Member Co., Ltd. came to present support money to the family of Mr. Nguyen Van Hop (residing in village 6, Plei Kan town, Ngoc Hoi district, now Bo Y commune, Quang Ngai province).
Receiving the support amount of 13,450,000 VND, Mr. Hop expressed his joy and gratitude for the noble gestures and kindness of readers from near and far and the benefactors. Although the amount of money is not large, it will help his family overcome difficult circumstances to rise up in life.
"With the supported funds, I will raise my two young children and pay for the hospital fees for them after the accident," Mr. Hop shared.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on the afternoon of March 28, 2025, when Ms. Bui Thi Le Thuy (born in 1991, a worker working at Kon Tum Rubber One Member Co., Ltd.) was picking up her child from school when she was suddenly hit by a large truck.
Although she was taken to the emergency room by the people immediately afterwards, due to the seriousness of her injuries, she did not survive. The child had to be hospitalized in critical condition.
Ms. Thuy's family situation is very difficult. Her husband, Mr. Nguyen Van Hop (born in 1985), is a freelancer with an unstable income, and has two young children of school age.
A representative of the Kon Tum Rubber One Member Co., Ltd. Trade Union said that previously, the Plei Kan Rubber Farm Trade Union proposed to support the construction of a "Union Shelter" for Ms. Thuy's family. However, because she had less than a year of working, she could not do it yet.
It was expected that in 2025, the company would include her family in the list of support for building a small house to shelter from the sun and rain, but before it could be implemented, a heartbreaking accident occurred.
