Lao Cai - More than 16.8 million VND from readers and philanthropists has been given to female student Ngo Thi Anh Nguyet who is completely paralyzed due to a serious illness.

On the afternoon of July 29, representatives of the Golden Heart Charity Fund - Lao Dong Newspaper presented the money donated by readers to Ngo Thi Anh Nguyet, a female student suffering from a dangerous disease, paralyzed all over her body in Bao Thang commune, Lao Cai province.

Accordingly, Lao Dong Newspaper reporters coordinated with Bao Thang Commune Trade Union and Bao Thang Commune People's Committee to hand over the amount of 16,829,400 VND directly to the family of Ngo Thi Anh Nguyet (born 2008), residing in An Tra village, Bao Thang commune, Lao Cai province.

Ngo Thi Anh Nguyet is the character in the article "12th grade female student in Lao Cai paralyzed after a serious illness needs help" published in Lao Dong Newspaper.

While in 12th grade with many dreams ahead, in September 2025, Nguyet suddenly suffered from a serious illness.

After only a short time, the disease completely lost her mobility, she had to lie paralyzed in the hospital bed, and all activities depended on the care of her loved ones.

Nguyet's situation became even more difficult when her mother passed away due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and her father went to work as a freelancer in Dong Nai to raise four children.

Currently, Nguyet is being taken care of by her paternal grandparents and aunt from the old Hai Duong province, while the family's economic situation is very difficult.

Receiving the support money, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thia - Nguyet's grandmother - emotionally thanked the Golden Heart Charity Fund - Lao Dong Newspaper and a large number of readers and philanthropists for their concern and sharing with the family's situation.

She said this is a great source of encouragement, helping the family have more conditions to care for and treat Nguyet in the coming time.
