Given the complicated developments of the COVID-19 epidemic, on March 17, the French government issued a national lockdown. Recently, members of the charity organization aurore have prepared more than 1,000 meals/day to distribute to homeless people and migrants in Paris (France). In the photo, a volunteer from aurore brought a tea maker to prepare drinking water for the group.
Accordingly, the aurore Association - a charity organization in France born in the 19th century - has used the old Saint Vincent de Paul Hospital in Paris (France) to serve meals since March 24 when the lockdown lasted for about a week. The image is the office of this organization at the hospital.
Since 2015, part of this hospital has been converted into a place for non-governmental organizations to operate. In the photo, two homeless people are sharing meals with each other.
At this hospital, the aurore Association divides its operating area into 2 spaces. The first space is a place to serve meals for groups of migrants and homeless people. Every day, this place can serve meals to about 300 people coming here. In the photo, a homeless person goes to a club to receive meals to reduce some of the economic burden.
In addition, the association has prepared about 1,000 other meals that have been packaged ready for local charitable organizations to receive and distribute. In the photo, a volunteer delivers free meals to migrants in Paris.
The second space is a place for homeless or migrants who want to rest during the day. However, to ensure safe distance rules in the context of the epidemic spreading strongly in Europe, this space only receives a maximum of 70 users at the same time. In the photo, a man is resting in a space of the old Saint Vincent de Paul hospital.
Households and migrants lined up outside the hospital waiting to get their meals. Queuing ensures a minimum distance to limit the spread of the epidemic.
The volunteers all help homeless people and migrants in Paris enthusiastically. In addition to preparing food, volunteers in aurore also helped this group of people in laundry, cleaning the room...
