China is stepping up its mission to put humans on the Moon by 2030 by mastering specialized spacesuit technology and space-simulating biomedical solutions, according to Xinhua.
Within the framework of the space medicine technology conference in Tianjin city on September 19, the Chinese Astronaute Center said that the country is getting closer to mastering specialized space suit technology and space-simulating biomedical solutions.
According to Mr. Truong Van Han - an expert at the center, the development process of the spacewalker landing suit named Vong Vu (Wangyu) is going very smoothly and has successfully applied dozens of core technologies.
Launched in 2020, the Vong Vu costume project focuses on solving complex requirements when operating on the surface of the Moon as well as adapting to the extremely harsh outer space environment, towards compact standards, optimal size, safety and high efficiency.
Along with specialized uniforms, China's space medicine field also recorded important progress when completing a sleeper trial called Dia Tinh 3 (Dixing 3).
Expert Khuc Le Na said that the experiment started in May 2026, in which volunteers lie continuously for 15 or 30 days to perform all daily activities right on the bed to simulate prolonged zero gravity.
The results showed that this method effectively protects the muscle, joint and cardiovascular system, creating a solid technical premise to support astronauts in long-duration stays and lunar landing missions in 2030.
