Warning signs that you are using electronic devices excessively

HUYỀN TRANG |

Excessive use of electronic devices can start from small habits and gradually affect daily life.

According to psychologist Hoang Anh - Voice of Therapist Office, some warning signs that the use of digital devices is becoming excessive can be recognized through changes in daily habits and activities:

Continuously checking the phone even though there is nothing to do

Taking the phone as a habit, frequently turning on the screen to view notifications or social networks may indicate that users are forming a need to check the device automatically.

Difficult to stop when starting to use

Initially, it was only intended to be viewed for a few minutes, but the usage time was much longer than expected. Even knowing they needed to stop, users still found it difficult to leave the device.

Discomfort when limited in equipment

Feeling restless, irritable, or uncomfortable when not using the phone is a sign to watch out for, especially when this reaction is repeated frequently.

Using the phone to avoid emotions

When bored, anxious, lonely or stressed, some people turn to the phone as the fastest way to disperse emotions. If the device becomes a near-single way to relieve stress, the level of dependence can increase.

Other activities affected

Time spent on studying, work, exercise, direct communication, rest or personal hobbies is gradually being replaced by time on the screen.

Not complying with the rules set

It has been agreed not to use the phone during meals, during school hours or before bed, but still uses it regularly. The difficulty in maintaining the limit set by yourself is a sign to pay attention to.

Effects on sleep

Staying up late to watch videos, surf social networks or use devices shortens sleep time, which can affect health and daily life the next day.

Recognizing the consequences but still difficult to change

When users have realized that using the device affects their studies, work, sleep or relationships but repeatedly try but still cannot adjust, this is a sign that needs to be taken more seriously.
