China has just recognized 11 new occupations to meet the needs of digital jobs, green transformation and modern service upgrades.

On September 9, the Chinese Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and relevant agencies officially recognized 11 new occupations and 23 supplementary majors, reflecting the strong shift in the country's labor market in the face of the wave of technology and industrial chain upgrades.

The new job list includes robot technicians integrating embodied artificial intelligence, coastal ship management engineers and sports data analysts. In this announcement, there are 5 jobs belonging to the digital economy group and 3 jobs belonging to the green economy group, bringing the total number of occupations in these two fields in China to 113 and 142 respectively.

Representatives of the Chinese Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security said that the country is facing a shortage of digital skills human resources, so the standardization of new professions will open up training orientations and wide open job opportunities.

Besides the digital group such as AI agents developers, the portfolio also expands to modern service and consumer life groups such as fragrant artisans, smart interior assemblers or fresh flower processing specialists.

Along with that, new majors belonging to existing occupational groups are also added such as low-level logistics operators and designs for renovating spaces that are friendly to the elderly.

From 2019 to now, China has issued 8 phases with 121 new occupations, of which the modern service group accounts for 43% and advanced manufacturing accounts for 34%.
