On August 24, KCNA news agency reported that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un directly supervised the test launch of new anti-aircraft missiles to assess the capability of combat.
The test is being conducted to test the system's response to aerial targets such as attack drones and cruise missiles.

According to KCNA, the new weapons demonstrate their ability to react quickly and accurately, thereby proving the effectiveness of the air defense system developed by North Korea.
Observers say the test is part of Pyongyang's efforts to strengthen its defense capabilities amid tense regional security.
Earlier this month, Mr. Kim Jong-un criticized the joint drills between the US and South Korea, calling this an act of "hostility and confrontation" with North Korea. He also pledged to quickly promote the country's nuclear program.
Information about the missile test was released right before the summit between US President Donald Trump and South Korean President Lee Jae Myung, scheduled to take place on August 25 at the White House.
