On February 12, Indian media quoted a source from the Mumbai Police Department as saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Air India One plane had been threatened with a terrorist attack right before his trip to the US.
According to initial information, a subject called the Mumbai Police Command Center, threatening to attack the Prime Minister's plane. Immediately after receiving the call, the authorities immediately launched an investigation and quickly arrested the suspect. Preliminary investigation results showed that this person had mental health problems.
The threatening call came as Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on a state visit to France and was preparing to depart for the US. The incident prompted security agencies to step up security measures to ensure the Indian leader’s flight was completely safe.
Notably, this is not the first time that Mumbai police have received threatening calls related to Prime Minister Modi. In December last year, a bomb threat was sent to the traffic police hotline.
In the same year 2024, the Police Dispatch Department also received a call threatening the Prime Minister's life, in which the caller claimed to have prepared a weapon to carry out an attack.
Currently, Indian authorities continue to investigate the incident and tighten security measures to ensure maximum safety for Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his foreign trips.
