Fran Clark, 80, in Hengrove, Bristol, England, started preparing Christmas gifts every year four years ago after reading an advertisement in a church magazine calling for donations.
At that time, the old lady lived at the house opposite her son. Although her son and grandchildren visit every day, she still feels lonely. Therefore, when she saw the call in the magazine, she felt excited to start implementing it.
She took a room on the upper floor to package gifts in shoe boxes. Thanks to being busy, she feels less lonely.
Every day, Mrs. Fran spends 1 hour packing gifts and boxes. gift boxes containing items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, etc.
The Independent said that the old lady known as " Christmas Mother" in real life received these charity items at charity stores and local donation groups. Each box of shoes and gift wrapping cost the old lady about 6.6 USD from her personal money.
Currently, the old lady is living in a nursing home in Brunelcare. The old lady was helped by friends and nursing home staff to find a source of charity and packaging items.
Many boxes of shoes were given to the old lady by a store. Every week, the store staff is about to make 15 boxes of shoes for the old lady. Every week, Mr. Fran takes the bus to the store to get the box himself.
Charitable organizations will go to Mr. Fran to get gift boxes and then distribute them to homeless people or children's organizations in the area.
