Ahead of a meeting between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump on September 29, the Israeli leader and his team predicted that Israel would have to accept painful and significant concession under the US plan to end the war in Gaza.
According to local media, these grants are expected to go against the announced policies of Israel and the decisions of the cabinet in recent weeks, especially regarding the proposal to gradually expand the role of the Palestinian government in Gaza in the post-war period.
The news comes as the US is increasing strengthening pressure on Qatar to pressure Hamas to accept details of Trumps plan in the coming days, with the aim of pinning all diplomatic demands on Prime Minister Netanyahu and Israel.
Meanwhile, Mr. Trump affirmed that the current negotiations are taking place more directly but effectively and will continue until necessary.
writing on Truth Social on the evening of September 26 (local time), Mr. Trump said that the negotiations had lasted for the past 4 days on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York with the participation of many Arab leaders, and would only stop when an agreement was reached.
According to Mr. Trump, Hamas knows the content of the discussion, while Israel, including Mr. Netanyahu has been informed at all levels. He stressed that he had never felt so much goodwill and enthusiasm to reach a deal that would bring permanent and lasting peace, while affirming that Hamas must return all Israeli hostages held under any deal.
