According to Reuters, Israeli airstrikes killed at least 16 people in Gaza on November 4. Residents said the main purpose of Israel's intensified offensive in northern Gaza was to empty residential areas.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) said that the number of aid shipments to Gaza continues to be reduced by Israel, increasing the shortage of food, medicine and other essential goods. Israel immediately denied the information.
Israel launched attacks in many areas across Gaza at different times on November 4, with the shelling leaving casualties.
According to local medical workers, the northern town of Beit Lahiya was hit twice in one day and seven people were killed. Four people were killed in another attack in the central town of Zawayda and the remaining five were killed in airstrikes in the south and center.
Air strikes also left several people injured and Israeli tanks were advancing northeast of the Nuseirat refugee camp.
The Israeli military said the deployment of tanks in areas such as Jabalia, Beit Hanoun and Beit Lahiya in Gaza was to support the fight against Hamas.
Palestinians say the Israeli military forced them to evacuate several areas, including two towns in northern Gaza and a refugee camp, in order to create buffer zones.
Israel has denied the reports and said it is trying to keep civilians out of harm's way while fighting Hamas.
Local officials said that since October 5, the Israeli army has killed 1,800 people and injured 4,800 others in Gaza, but there has been no confirmation from the Gaza Health Ministry about the number of casualties.
