There has been no comment from the Israeli military, but they have said the purpose of the strikes in Syria is to destroy the Islamic Jihad militant group.
Israel has carried out at least two airstrikes in Syria in recent weeks, causing serious damage and casualties, Syrian state news agency reported.
The Israeli military accused Jihad of participating in an attack on Israel alongside Hamas on October 7, 2023. The attack left at least 1,200 civilians dead and 251 people taken hostage.
