Gazprom has set a new record for daily gas supplies to China via the Power of Siberia pipeline, the Russian gas company said on March 4.
"On March 3, Gazprom recorded a new historical record for daily gas supplies to China via the Power of Siberia. The supply volume exceeded Gazprom's contractual commitments," TASS quoted Gazprom as saying.

Gazprom added that from December 1, 2024, the volume of gas transported through the Power of Siberia pipeline has reached the maximum contractual level. Since then, the company has continuously set new records for daily gas supply, with the most recent record on March 3, 2025 being the third record.
Gazprom began supplying gas to China via the Power of Siberia pipeline in 2019. The Power of Siberia pipeline passes through three regions of Russia, including Irkutsk, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the Amur.
The gas transported via the pipeline is sourced from the Chayandinskoye mine in Yakutia. The Kovykta mine in Irkutsk Oblast was connected to the Power of Siberia pipeline system in 2022.
After the latest record, Gazprom became the largest pipeline gas exporter to China, far exceeding Turkmenistan. In terms of total gas supply including LNG exports, Russia has long held the top spot, Interfax noted.
