In December 2025, Russian gas supplies to European countries through the TurkStream pipeline increased by 13.6% compared to December 2024, reaching 1.73 billion m3, an absolute record high in a month since the gas pipeline connecting Russia and Turkey began operating in January 2020. The TurkStream gas pipeline connecting Russia and Turkey through the Black Sea, with a capacity of 31.5 billion m3, is designed to supply Russian gas to Turkey and South and Southeast European countries.
This is the last gas transport route still operating to bring Russian gas to Europe after gas transportation through Ukraine ended in early 2025. The starting point of the TurkStream pipeline is the Russkaya gas station near the Russian city of Anapa.
