According to Boeing's announcement on December 10, Boeing will bring the H-47 Chinook, MH-139 Grey Wolf, ScanEagle and Wave Glider to participate in the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024. The outstanding capabilities that Boeing introduced at the exhibition include humanitarian assistance, disaster relief and environmental monitoring.
“Boeing’s presence at the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition is a welcome step in our growing partnership. For the first time in Vietnam, Boeing will showcase products that demonstrate its leading defense and security capabilities, combined with providing humanitarian assistance during times of uncertainty,” said Michael Nguyen, managing director of Boeing Vietnam.
At the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024, the products introduced by Boeing include: H-47 Chinook heavy-lift helicopter, MH-139 Grey Wolf multi-role helicopter, MH-139 Grey Wolf, ScanEagle unmanned vehicle, Wave Glider.
According to Boeing's announcement, the H-47 Chinook is a heavy-lift helicopter ordered by the US Army and 20 international operators. This advanced, multi-mission helicopter is capable of transporting cargo and troops, conducting search and rescue, evacuating casualties, special operations, humanitarian and disaster relief...
The MH-139 Grey Wolf multi-mission helicopter is capable of performing a variety of missions including patrol, search and rescue, and troop and cargo transport. Based on the Leonardo Helicopters AW139 and equipped with advanced technologies, the MH-139 helicopter allows operators to complete missions safely, quickly and efficiently.
ScanEagle is an unmanned aircraft system (UAS) designed and manufactured by Insitu, a wholly owned subsidiary of Boeing. ScanEagle has revolutionized tactical UAS intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) operations in both the military and commercial sectors.
The Wave Glider is a long-duration, high-endurance unmanned surface vehicle that can carry or tow a variety of sensors, providing users with real-time access to marine data.
The Wave Glider was designed and manufactured by Liquid Robotics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Boeing. Boeing says the Wave Glider is the world's most proven autonomous water vehicle.
Also in the announcement, Boeing said that Boeing's partnership with Vietnam has lasted nearly 30 years. Currently, Boeing has a presence in Vietnam in the fields of commercial aviation, defense, supply chain, technical training, higher education cooperation and community impact initiatives.
Boeing has its headquarters in Hanoi, with service offices in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
According to Boeing, Boeing's investments in Vietnam have helped grow the local aerospace sector, create jobs, strengthen the aerospace supply chain, support local capacity building and create social impact.
