Venice City was flooded the most, three-quarters of the city's area was submerged in water after the storm brought strong winds, rising water and knocking down trees.
The water level in Venice rose more than 1.5 meters on October 29, the highest level since December 2008.
The water even submerged the walkways that had been raised in flooded areas.
Venice Luigi Brugrano Mayer said on October 29 that a series of underground barriers should have prevented water levels from rising.However, the project named "Moses" was delayed for quite a while with increased costs and widespread corruption.
