2025 university admissions have many changes to match the 2018 General Education Program.
According to the regulations issued by the Ministry on March 21, the Ministry of Education and Training officially eliminated early admission. Universities are still allowed to use many admission methods, but must consider the same round as the graduation exam scores, and at the same time convert the scores between methods and combinations to a common scale.
For example, at Hanoi University of Science and Technology last year, the thinking assessment test was calculated on a scale of 100, considering the admission of talent on a scale of 110, considering the high school graduation exam score on a scale of 30, according to the Ministry's regulations, this year it must be on the same scale.
The Ministry of Education and Training requires conversion to be simple, easy to understand, and convenient for application, in which, schools use data on high school graduation exam scores or high school academic results as the root to build conversion rules.
The schools then analyzed statistical data on the number of admitted candidates according to each method (at least two consecutive years), and the learning results of each student.
From the correlation between university learning outcomes and general methods of the same group of candidates; the threshold for ensuring input quality (bankmark) to the maximum level of the consideration scale, schools must determine at least 3 scoring areas (for example, excellent - good, good, achieving), thereby building a minimum of three linear correlational jaw (3 most common jaw) for these scoring areas.
Based on the above plan, at the same time, based on the standard rules announced by the Ministry after having high school graduation exam scores, based on the specific program and training major, universities will complete the conversion rules.
Another example given by the Ministry of Education and Training is as follows:
Analyzing the results of the same group of candidates using the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam and the results of the transcripts (6 semesters) according to 5 traditional blocks; based on the assessment of the learning results of students in previous years, it shows: excellent - excellent candidates account for 30% of the total number of candidates admitted, corresponding to the high school exam results of 24.75 and the admission score of 25.75; candidates with a good or better score account for 80% of the total number of candidates, the admission exam results are 20.5 and the admission score is 22.0; the rest is the achievement level.
Accordingly, CSDT can use the scores (24.75;25.75); (20.5;22) along with the score of the entrance quality threshold and the maximum score of the scale considered (30;30) to linearize each region and establish a formula (the most common method) equivalent to the admission score between the two methods.
