According to Xinhua News Agency, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said that on the night of July 23 (local time), the US military conducted an air strike targeting Iranian military targets, marking the 13th consecutive night the US carried out attacks.
In a statement posted on social network X, CENTCOM said that the airstrikes began at 6:45 pm (US Eastern time), aimed at forcing Iran to take responsibility and reducing threats from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to commercial transport operations.
CENTCOM also informed that since resuming the naval blockade against Iran in early July, US forces have diverted 12 merchant ships and prevented 1 ship from entering or leaving Iranian ports or coastal areas.
On the same day, US President Donald Trump said that he is considering resuming major military operations against Iran, which may include launching larger-scale airstrikes. Operation Epic Fury was launched on February 28.
