After a week of escalating US attacks targeting airports, train stations and bridges, Iran attacked an oil facility as well as an electricity and water plant in Kuwait. The Bahraini military said that the air defense system repelled Iran's attacks.
Tehran also launched new attacks in Jordan, killing 2 soldiers on July 17 while "defending against attacks by Iranian ballistic missiles and drones". Another US soldier is still missing, according to the US Central Command (CENTCOM).
With the latest casualties, the total number of US military casualties has increased to 16 since the conflict began on February 28.
