The US has suffered billions of USD in losses in the Middle East after Iran's attacks.

US intelligence facilities in the Middle East have suffered losses of up to billions of USD due to Iranian attacks, according to TASS on August 26.

According to sources quoted by TASS, Iran's missile and drone attacks targeting US reconnaissance and surveillance facilities in the region have caused unprecedented damage, far exceeding all losses that US intelligence agencies have ever suffered.

Sources added that Washington will have to spend billions of USD to remedy the consequences.

Accordingly, Iran's attacks also raised doubts about whether the US State Department, the Pentagon and the intelligence community were fully prepared to ensure the necessary level of protection for its facilities in the region.

In another development, President Donald Trump's administration is starting to bring staff back to some diplomatic missions in the Middle East - places that had to evacuate or cut staff due to tensions with Iran.

Sources said that employees will return to work at representative offices in Lebanon, Israel, Saudi Arabia and Baghdad (Iraq). Relatives of employees will be allowed to return to the US representative office in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).
