The Russian Defense Ministry said on April 17 that its air defense systems had destroyed or intercepted a total of 71 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) overnight, spanning six different areas.
Accordingly, the Kursk region recorded the largest number of UAVs shot down with 49 units, the rest were shot down in the Oryol, Ryazan, Bryansk, Vladimir and Tula regions.
At the same time, the Russian Ivanovo regional government said that the town of Shuya had been attacked by Ukrainian UAVs, but no damage or casualties were reported. This is the second consecutive night the town has been targeted.
Shuya is the base of a Russian missile Brigade. Ukrainians have previously accused the Brigade of carrying out an attack on the city of Sumy on April 13, killing at least 35 people.
After the attacks, many Telegram channels in Russia spread videos that were said to record the scene of a military base in Shuya being hit by bullets and a fire at the scene. However, Ukraine has not yet responded to the information.
