A representative of the Market Management Department of Can Tho City said that in the first quarter of 2025, people's demand for essential goods increased, especially during Tet. This is the time when smuggled goods, goods of unknown origin, counterfeit goods, and poor quality goods are bustling.
Facing the above situation, the Sub -Department has strengthened the fight against smuggling, trade frauds, and fake goods in the city, contributing to stabilizing the market, helping consumers to enjoy the spring to celebrate Tet. The unit has 89 inspections. In particular, violating 65 cases, handling 49 cases, total budget payment of over VND 900 million.
In particular, in 2024 and the first months of 2025, the Department of TTTT has developed a thematic plan to sample milk with 28 samples. Accordingly, 3 unsatisfactory milk samples have been transferred to the investigating police agency and were transferred to the unit for sanctioning administrative violations. In the near future, the Sub -Department will strengthen management and coordination with the authorities to take samples as a basis for inspection and supervision of goods circulating in the market.
Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City Ha Vu Son suggested that the City Market Management Department focus on sharply fighting and eliminating problems related to milk. At the same time, consider this an important task in the coming time, contributing to protecting consumer rights.
Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Nguyen Thuc Hien also suggested that the Industry and Trade sector coordinate with relevant agencies to strengthen the inspection of product and goods quality on the market. Accordingly, strictly handle cases of selling counterfeit, fake, and poor quality goods.
