The video was released shortly after both Moscow and Pyongyang confirmed the involvement of North Korean military personnel in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
The video, shared by state media, shows Russian coaches instructing North Korean soldiers on how to use Kalashnikov assault guns, advantageous guns and handcuffs to fight against drones.
The video also shows a scene of a locomotive thrower training and combat techniques in open areas and battlefields.
Military authorities did not say the time of filming the video.
The video was released hours after President Vladimir Putin thanked North Korean leader Kim Jong-un for sending troops to support Russian forces in liberating the southwestern Kursk region from Ukrainian forces.
President Putin said that North Korean military units have played an active role in the defeat of Ukrainian forces in Kursk, fully complying with international law and in accordance with the spirit of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty signed between Russia and North Korea on June 19, 2024 - especially Article 4 of the treaty, which requires each side to provide immediate military support in case of armed attacks against the other side.
"We respectfully acknowledge the emotional gesture, stemming from the spirit of solidarity, justice and loyal comradeship that North Korean friends have given us. In particular, I would like to express my sincere thanks to President Kim Jong-un and all the leaders and people of North Korea for this valuable support" - the message posted on the Kremlin website quoted President Putin as emphasizing.
The Kremlin leader expressed his belief that the friendship, neighborliness and close cooperation between Russia and North Korea, which have been cultivated on the battlefield, will continue to develop and expand in all aspects.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stressed that Moscow is fully ready to send Russian troops to North Korea in response to Pyongyang's support.
North Korean state news agency KCNA previously reported that North Korean military personnel were fighting in Kursk province, where Ukrainian forces launched a surprise invasion in August 2024.
