Russia's North Pole-43 expedition will deploy more than 50 research missions, focusing on oceans, geophysics, atmosphere and the North Pole.

On August 25 (local time), according to TASS news agency quoting Mr. Alexander Makarov, Director of the Russian Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute (AARI), the research program of the North Pole-43 scientific expedition has been identified with more than 50 missions.

Talking to TASS, Mr. Makarov said that the main research directions of North Pole-43 have been identified. The program will focus mainly on oceanography, geophysics and atmospheric research.

According to Mr. Makarov, a separate research direction in the expedition will be for mapping the North Pole. This is one of the contents included in the expedition's research program.

In addition to surveying the ocean floor, Russian scientists will pay special attention to issues related to climate change in the Arctic. The program also studies the process of heat and material exchange between the ocean and the atmosphere, thereby collecting more data on natural processes taking place in the region.

Ice research is also among the priority contents of the expedition. Scientists will conduct survey activities to serve the study of the characteristics and developments of ice in the Arctic.

Another research direction is biodiversity. According to Mr. Makarov, research cooperation on biodiversity will continue to be implemented within the framework of the North Pole-43 expedition.

Mr. Makarov said that the above contents are only part of the scientific program of the expedition. In total, the North Pole-43 program includes more than 50 different research missions.

North Pole-43 is a scientific expedition that continues a series of Arctic research activities organized by Russia. In this program, the combination of many research groups to collect data on the simultaneous processes between the ocean, atmosphere and ice is identified as an important part.
