According to VNA, at the meeting, Chairman of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin emphasized that Russia always values relations with Vietnam and affirmed that the State Duma and political forces in the Duma support the continued consolidation and strong development of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Vietnam; emphasized that the State visit of General Secretary and President To Lam to Russia will create a new important milestone in the relationship between the two countries and the two National Assemblies.
President Vyacheslav Volodin congratulated the great achievements that the Vietnamese people have achieved in the past time, affirming that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by General Secretary and President To Lam, Vietnam will achieve its development goals, ensure sovereignty, territorial integrity and increasingly enhance its position in the international arena.

General Secretary and President To Lam highly appreciated the positive contributions of the Russian State Duma and Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin personally in consolidating and developing relations between the two countries; affirmed that cooperation between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Russian State Duma is an important part of the Vietnam - Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Highly appreciating the effectiveness of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee mechanism between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Russian State Duma, General Secretary and President To Lam said that this is a special and practical cooperation mechanism, creating conditions for the legislative bodies of the two countries not only to strengthen bilateral relations but also to directly exchange and review the implementation of agreements of senior leaders, and jointly find solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles in cooperation between the two countries.
Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin affirmed that one of the important tasks of the legislative bodies of the two countries is to create a favorable legal basis for implementing agreements reached at the highest level.
The two sides agreed to strengthen the role of the legislative body in creating a favorable legal basis for long-term energy cooperation projects, and at the same time strengthen coordination between the National Assemblies of the two countries at regional and international parliamentary forums; continue to consult and coordinate positions on issues of common concern.
