On June 9, the Ukrainian Air Force said Russia had launched 479 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) into Ukraine in the largest UAV night airstrike since the conflict began in February 2022.
In addition to drones, there were 20 missiles of various types fired at different areas in Ukraine.
The attacks typically start late in the evening and end in the morning, as drones are more difficult to detect moving at night.
Throughout more than three years of the conflict in Ukraine, Russia has continuously attacked Ukraine with Shahed drones. According to the United Nations, these airstrikes killed more than 12,000 Ukrainian civilians.
